Sad day

So for a long time Eric has wanted to "buzz" Matthew's hair. I have resisited because I love his hair. It is his little signature on life so far. Alas, Eric wouldn't give up. So today I let him take it all off. Guess who cried? Yep me. I was so sad as I sat there and held my handsome little boy get all of his hair cut off. I know you are all thinking crazy girl it will grow back. I am totally aware of this but it was still a sad day in my little life. He still looks cute of course, it just changed his look.

Also, please notice in the before the haircut picture the huge bug that greeted me in our garage as I went to church this morning! YIKES!!!

About an hour later, Eric came in and said - "he just doesn't look the same huh?" Oh man he almost got it :) Then to tease me he said "Why did you let me do it?" Oh man he really almost got it! :) Anyway, Matthew is still very handsome but just with A LOT LESS hair!!

Quick recap

So here are a few pictures from June and July. We were in Utah for about a week in June to welcome home my brother from the Czech Republic. It was so good to see him again and have him home. He also got to meet Matthew and Cannon.
Cannon is really smiling and “talking” now. In fact last night he snorted in his sleep. It was really funny. He is into the goo goo gaga phase and it is a lot of fun to see. He loves to be held, rocked, snuggled and talked to. We love to make him smile and every once in awhile we start to get a little laugh which melts our heart.

Matthew is trying so hard to be a good big brother. He is picking up pretty slow that he is not to hit Cannon. Other than that he is a big helper. He loves to "help" do everything, including laundry. His favorite saying is "mow the lawn". I know that is a very silly phrase and we aren't quite sure why he picked up on it so keenly, but he uses it for everything and loves to greet Eric when he gets home! :) He is talking a lot now and it is fun to have conversations with him. He just runs through all the words he knows and then smiles like he just told the best story. They are both growing up so fast that I can't believe it.

July 4th

We had a great time celebrating a very hot July 4th with our friends here in Texas. It has been a tradition to go swimming on the 4th down here. We had a great time and even little Cannon got in on the action a little. That night we had a bbq with friends and then ventured out into the 100 degree night to watch the fireworks. We were so hot!! We had a good group of people in "our spot" this year so it was a lot of fun.
