4 years old!

We celebrated Cannon’s 4th birthday, I can hardly believe it.   He kept telling me he wanted a Star Wars birthday and that is all he wanted, so he got it.  We had a lot of fun with his new toys and he even helped me decorate the cake which he loved.  He truly has a soft heart and brings such joy to all of us.  He continues to give the best hugs and kisses and I know someday these will stop and oh how I will miss them.  He enjoys all the normal boy things, running, racing cars, and playing bad guy good guy in whichever form it takes.  He loves to help with just about anything you ask taking out dirty diapers, helping to cooking his favorite breakfast pancakes or helping pour milk on his cereal his second favorite breakfast.  He loves chocolate milk and any type of candy and chips he can get his hands on.  I have no idea where he gets that from:)   He recently started to love to swing on the swings at the park near our house, which is a very brave thing for him.  He has a great imagination and loves to draw pictures of people, our family, cars and all sorts of things that mostly I am not sure what it is until he tells me.  We are so happy to have this sweet boy in our family.

Happy Easter!

We tried hard to get some good pictures of Easter, but either the boys wanted nothing to do with it or Kylie didn't....so this is what we got :)

The boys loved dying Easter eggs this year!

Matthew's smile says it all :)

Sweet Kids

The boys really have been loving on their little sister.  Matthew's favorite thing to do is to rub her sweet little head because "it's fuzzy mom".  Cannon wants to hold her little hand and give her kisses.  It is so sweet to see these rambunctious boys show their "love" side.

The family visit

We don't have a name yet soooo...  The baby was able to be out of NICU today and be in the room with Ariel and nick.  We are so thankful she is doing so well!  We took the boys with us to see her too.  I even got to hold her today.  She is so sweet and it truly felt awesome to get to hold her.

Off oxygen!!

Yea today she is off the oxygen and only has one more treatment of antibiotic tonight.  They are hoping to have her in a regular bed in the NICU by tomorrow.  Eric got to hold and feed her today so we are pretty excited.  Thank you for prayers!!

Look at this sweet face, just look at it:).

A little one!

After a long couple of days for our sweet birth mom, this "little" girl made it to the world February 22, 2013.  She weighs in at 8 lbs 12 oz and is 21 inches long.  Love her already and her sweet birth family.  We don't know when we get to bring her home but hopefully next week.

Disneyland

We were in Phoenix one week before Kylie's due date and started trying to figure out what to do to kill time.   Awhile ago I had looked up how far Disneyland would be from Phoenix and turns out it is only 5 hours which seems really short after the long drive from Houston.   So we decided what better way to spend time while waiting for Kylie to be born then to get on the road again and drive to Disneyland?

It turned out to be such a fun trip.  We left on a Wednesday night and drove most of it while the kids were sleeping.  Really good idea on our part as we avoided the hourly potty/stretch breaks:)    We woke up early and went straight to Cars Land and to the Cars ride.   We ended up going on this ride three times that day thanks to the fast pass and losing our park hopper tickets.  (It took so long to locate the old ones in the system that they felt bad and gave us another fast pass).  It worked out great for us as we got to use it on Cannon's favorite ride Buzz Lightyear.   We got to "meet" lots of characters which the boys loved.  They were such a fun age to go and it really was a perfect Disneyland day.  We rode whatever the kids wanted to ride and the lines were typically about 20 minutes which I think is pretty awesome for Disneyland.

The next day we woke up and went to Disneyland.  It was quite a bit more crowded as it was a Friday, but we had a great day.  We found that there is another buzz lightyear ride which the boys loved.  Cannon was just at 40 inches so he was able to go on all the rides too.  The boys were super excited about going on the Star Wars ride so we took them and I am still not totally convinced that they loved.  If you ask them they did.

By far the most memorable ride of the day came at the very end when we took the boys on Splash Mountain.  Yes we get the awesome parenting award for this one.  We will let you be the judge whether or not we have scarred our children for life:)

In which Matthew loses a tooth!

Our morning breakfast conversation went like this.

Matthew: Hey mom, my tooth is loose(mind you his entire mouth was full of food)
Me: What, you have a loose tooth? ( I truly had no idea it was even loose)
Matthew: Yea, see.
Me: Hey please finish your food and then I will look at it.
Matthew: ok
Me:  I walked into the other room to finish my hair.
Seconds later
Matthew:  Mom, my tooth is out!
Me: What?
Matthew:  shows me his little tiny tooth.

I was totally amazed that his tooth had fallen out.  We had never talked about loose teeth before and he was a little nervous about all of his teeth falling out.  I told him new teeth would grow back.  Then he told me that it was okay if he had big teeth like me:)  Funny kid.  This was one of his teeth that was pushed back when he bit through his lip and that was chipped, so this poor tooth really had held on through quite a bit.

Cannon wanted a picture too!
