naptime

Oh how I love naptime! I was in scrapbooking today during their naps!

This is the conversation I had with Matthew when he woke up from his nap:

Matthew: Hey mommy
Me: Yes Matthew
Matthew: What are you doing?
Me: Scrapbooking (he could hear me printing in the room next door)
Matthew: I need something.
Me: What do you need to do?
Matthew: I need to work downtown.

A couple of weeks ago, Eric took the day off but had to run get something downtown at his office. He took Matthew with him and now everytime Matthew needs to go somewhere or to "work" it is downtown. Oh how I love the funny personality he has!

Cannon is one today!

We celebrated Cannon's one year birthday today! I can't believe he is one and growing so fast. I feel so grateful to have such a sweet, happy boy in our family. I am so thankful for the opportunity to adopt him and to seal him to our family. It has been a crazy year with two little boys but I really wouldn't trade it for anything. This time last year we were just getting notice that his birth mom was going into labor and that we needed to be there "now". Well that turned our whole world upside down for the afternoon and we ended up on a plane that night arriviing in Portland Oregon around midnight. We drove to meet Cannon at the hospital and we got to meet his birthmom and most of her family the next day. What a neat experience to meet them and I will be forever grateful for them. We picked Cannon up at the hospital on Sunday April 5th. What a crazy rush of emotions that 48 hours earlier we had one little boy and then another blessing arrived in our family. He has been so much fun and we are so grateful to have him in our home! Some of the fun things he is doing right now: He army crawled for such a long time but he has finally graduated to being an official crawler. He stands up to everything and wants to be a part of everything. He has a love for Matthew. Sometimes however it is replaced with fear when he gets close and Matthew lays on him or puts a pillow over him or takes his towy. But most of the time he laughs the hardest and the most at or with Matthew. It is fun to watch. He loves the bath. He goes up stairs very fast. He loves to clap. He loved his first pizza on his birthday! His birthday cake was a baseball and he tried to bounce it, but he loved the frosting:) He also is sporting 6 teeth, you can see most of them in this picture:) Happy Birthday Cannon!
