My little artist?

When I went in to get Matthew from his nap today this is what I found.  Such talent!

Just some fun "fall" activities

 We have had lots of fun playdates with friends lately.  Today we went on our annual visit to Old MacDonalds Farm.  We saw lots of animals, Matthew rode a horse and of course the train ride was a HUGE hit.

We also played in the fountains at Market Street which is always a big hit! Yes it is still warm enough to play outside in the water-ugh.



FIRE ANTS!!!!!

Oh how I don't like you!  When you live in Texas they are kind of impossible to avoid but so far we have done okay, until now.  The weather was so nice this weekend so the boys were outside playing on the playset and I was making dinner. I know bad mommy moment...  The door was open and I looked up to check on the kids and I see Matthew reach for something in the grass, I just knew it was fireants, I ran out the door and poor little Cannon was standing in a mound and by the time I got to him his little foot was covered in those pesky little beasts.  I got them off as soon as I could and washed his feet in the sink as I was simultaneously stripping him down to make sure they weren't up his leg or in his diaper.  What do i discover... a poopy diaper.  Yikes.  By this time Matthew is crying Cannon is screaming and I am trying to get them both calmed down.  All in all some benadryl helped.  the pictures don't do his sad little foot justice.  It looks like he had about 50 or so bites on his foot.   The second picture is the next morning so the swelling at least had gone down.  Now it looks like chicken pox.  So sad.
