Some catching up to do
So it seems I have quite some catching up to do on our blog.... so here goes:
June: We had some family pictures taken and they turned out great! It is so hard to get the boys to cooperate:)
We also went to Utah and had lots of fun especially at Tyson and Taylor's wedding! We played with cousins and went to museums. We love being there!
July: We were still in Utah for a bit and got to see some fireworks. The boys loved them and keep asking when we get to see them again. I honestly can't remember what we did the rest of the month:)
August: Just some fun activities for the month.

Matthew was getting ready to start preschool so we went and met his teacher! Can I just saythank you to Jamie for telling me to sign him up for two days instead of one! LOVE IT!
The Days of popsicles - such happy boys.
First day of preschool:)
September: We spent Labor day with friends and ended the month back in Utah for Eric's recruiting trip! We also celebrated Matthew's 4th brithday which will get it's own post:)
Recruiting:
We love that Eric has to go to utah in September because we get to go too! We had lots of fun

We went to Gardner Village and saw the witches. I was so glad we got to go this year, I am usually in Texas when my family goes. The boys got "smooky" spiders painted on their faces and they thought that was so cool!

We went up a little early this year so we could spend time with Eric before he started the recruiting. One Saturday we went out on the boat and rode in the tube. The boys loved it and had such a great time! We got to spend lots of time with family and had a great time! Thanks everyone for coming to see us!

Matthew Turns 4!
I sometimes can’t believe this little man is really 4. It seems like just yesterday we were on our way to Austin to meet him and then met his beautiful birth family and held this little tiny boy in our arms. We feel so lucky to have him in our family!
This year we celebrated in Utah with a Pirate Themed party! He was so grown up today and just played outside and had so much fun. All of the cousins on my side were there and we had lots of pirate activities for them. We colored, decorated pirate hats and eye patches, we got some pretty cute pictures of everyone. His favorite gift was a set of golf clubs and then he and Eric went golfing a couple of days later to break them in. We ended the evening with a bbq and pirate cake of courseJ
Matthew is such a sweet kid(most of the time) he notices the funny stuff that 4 year olds shouldn’t notice. He compliments me on my shirt or my “pretty” watch. Lately he likes purses much to Eric’s dismay and found an old pink one of mine that he keeps some of his stuff in like his wallet with credit cards, cars, snacks etc. He pretty much has in his purse what I have in mine. We often will go to the store with purses and one day (I am putting this in so as to completely embarrass him when he gets older) he wanted to wear my pretty flower heals and take the purse to Wal-Mart. Luckily I talked him out of the shoes and we just had the purse.
Matthew is a little talker. The last couple of months he has started waking up early to see Eric before he goes to work. He comes in and goes to Eric face and says "Hi Dad" which usually scares me out of my restful sleep:) He talks non -stop while Eric is getting ready asking about golf and work and "what everything" is and then they have breakfast together. It is so much fun an Eric loves it. He asks so many questions and because of that is a pretty smart kid(of course right?). It is fun to listen to him and hear all the crazy things that he thinks of. His imagination has definitely gotten bigger over this last year and lately he likes to be a superhero and then he tells Cannon he is a penguin. We are not sure where this all came from but then they go off to save the day.
Matthew loves to sleep on the floor with all of his things around him. Typical sleeping companions are dog, shamu, turtle, a blanket or two, cars, his purse and whatever else he somehow sneaks into his room, well I really should say doorway. More often than not he is half in his room and half out. We really shouldn’t have bought furniture.
Happy Birthday Matthew!
